If someone offered you the gift of immortality, would you take it? Years ago, when I was in the same position as yourself I know what I would say. In fact, that is what I said as I am sure you would too, what human or for that matter mortal would willingly give up the chance to be ever lasting? Well, when you have had time to ponder the things that you would be able to as a mortal. Things that are merely a waste of time, things that just simply don't have answers. Then you realize that, mortality isn't such a bad thing after all. Immortality is lonely, all one has is their God, if they exist or not. And at such a point you begin to wonder if your God, or any God could allow such an abomination to walk the Earth. Some of us are born into this world, while others of us were forced into this world. But then again, some of us... were made.
The thing about forever is that even forever has to come to an end and become something more. Something, different. The question is how do you know it changed? Or for that matter when did it change? There is an all-powerful benevolent force in the universe that should very much be reckoned with. The problem is, when you face this thing will you know? Would anyone know? Some would like to think they know, but really don't. How would one act in the presence of, everything. What if we have it all wrong, what if it isn't that God works in mysterious ways, but rather God works in such obvious ways that we just can't notice?
Humans have a hard time spending time thinking about such topics; they wish to lead blind faithful lives. Faithful to what? To politicians? To rules and laws? To guidelines in which we don't even know who made in the first place? To morals in which no one follows? To standards which no one meets? Faith... what a hollow word. Humans are bound to these things, you watch day after day in which they exist without even knowing they are alive. I suppose its true what they say: You will never be able to understand life, unless you can learn to see time without itself. If a person always lives life believing that time is an unstoppable measurement of action they will never be able to see and live... life.
